Flowers for "confetti style" memorial jewelry & paperweights

funeral flowers drying in microwaveDrying your special funeral flowers is an easy process!

IF YOUR FLOWERS ARE FRESH AND YOU WANT THE CONFETTI STYLE

You can dry them yourself easily. This is sooooooo easy to do!
The best way to dry your flowers for this purpose is to CUT all the petals off the flower head.
Try and avoid getting stamens and leaves and the stems mixed in. (I do not want all the seed pods that develop at the petal end!
That is why I ask for you to CUT the petals off rather than pull them off.
Arrange a bunch of loose petals on 1 sheet of paper towel
and
microwave for 20 seconds on "high".

(you can add more than I show; just don't layer them and try to not have edges touch.
If you find the petals are burning, lower length of time.
Change paper towel after each 20 second "blast" and wipe the moisture from the microwave.
When the flowers feel dry [they will feel crunchy and brittle] you are done. They will shrivel right up, but this is fine. Red roses turn maroon and this is normal.
Most flowers will be dry in less than 5 blasts of 20 seconds. Do NOT microwave for more than 20 seconds each time, as the flowers will burn! Please microwave white flowers at 15-20 second intervals.
White flowers tend to burn easier.
Place them in an envelope within the mailing envelope or box and mail them to me.
A small flat rate Priority USPS box is perfect!
It is best NOT to use a baggie, as they can hold in moisture if any is left in your petals and they can rot the flowers.

I need your order before I get your flowers. Please mark each envelope with your name.
** I will be happy to dry your flowers for you! You must mail them ASAP via 2nd day. PRIORITY USPS. Insulate them with paper towels and try to lay them flat. Mail to Ruth Wales, PO Box 174, Casco, ME 04015 ** Please send me the tracking number so I can watch for them.

Dried funeral flowers
It is next to impossible to work with petals that have the seed pods and feathers on them.
How to prepare petals
It is so easy to cut the petals off as shown!

If you have fresh flowers and want my Pressed Flower Style

You MUST send me your flowers ASAP after the funeral. You will be investing quite a bit for this choice, and the sooner I get your flowers, the better the outcome! You will need to collect a variety of flowers at the funeral for my designing palate.
I will use my greenery as I treat the leaves with a special florist paint so they do not turn brown.
Before I go any further, you will NEED to OVER NIGHT SHIP your flowers to me. This is an average cost of $30+ depending on the service you select.
Okay, now you have digested that, I will go further with my directions.
If it is the weekend and you can not ship until Monday, keep the flowers in a vase of water in the refrigerator.
Do not take out until ready to ship. Prepare your flowers by cutting off the stems and loosely wrapping INDIVIDUAL flower heads( do not take individual petals off) in paper towels. Please do not tape the paper towels. Try and keep flowers, like Mums, flat. Do not wrap two flowers together as they will bruise. Be careful to not get water on the flower heads. Try and enclose a variety of flowers for a more varied design. If you only wish red roses, for example, that is fine too. You may also enclose a few leaves if they are small. Usually I use my own greenery, as it is the appropriate size. Place in a box with more cushioning around them. If the weekend is almost here, WAIT and send your flowers out on a Monday. I do not want them sitting in a warehouse where it might be too cold and they would freeze. Notify me ahead of shipping, because in a very rare chance, I may not be here to receive them.
I prefer USPS. Please let me know the tracking number!!! I want to be sure to know when they arrive.

I check my e-mail regularly when I go away, so that is actually the best way to reach me.
*Note: If you change your mind about sending flowers after we have discussed your order, please call and let me know so I will not be worrying and waiting for your flowers! Also, please do not send with a signature confirmation. I may be out walking my dog 🐶 and miss your delivery.
